| My
first non-singing play was in August 2007 in Parker,
Colorado. I played 'Wally Webb' in the American Classic "Our Town" from Thornton Wilder. This play won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1938. In the play I am dieing of a burst appendix on a boy scout camping trip. |

My
next
theater play was in "Information
for Foreigners" by Griselda
Gambaro ,
who is, without doubt, one of
the most innovative and powerful writers in the world today. The drama
leads audiences through scenes of torture and brutality. The play was a US premiere, directed by Maru Garcia and Hector Munoz and had 12 shows in September 2007 in Denver. Pictures here. "Gambaro's theatre is testimony to the fact that even in democracy there is room and demand for politically conscious theatre." I played several roles: i.e. a judge, a Secret Service gunman, a street child, a prisoner. I'm very proud to report that a picture of mine is shown in the 20th Anniversary Edition of "The Wadsworth Anthology of Drama", published in 2010. It shows me in a "Information for Foreigners"-scene where my play-father and I were kidnapped by secret police. ISBN-13 number: 978-0-495-80189-4 (you can see me on page 1553 in the instructor's edition and on page 1254 in the brief edition)

| In
April and May 2008 I played the role of 'Jason'
in "Falsettos"
(by William
Finn) at the award-winning
Next
Stage Theater in Denver. Falsettos
won 1992 Tony
Awards for best book and musical score. This is what the press said about the piece: "A masterly feat of comic storytelling and ... visionary musical theater."---Variety "What
a treasure this is: brave and
hilarious, charming,
disarming, loaded with honestsentiment and cynicism."---N.Y. Newsday
In 1992 the production ran for 487 performances Pictures Only 7 actors including me; more than 3 dozend songs of which I had several solos A quirky, engaging musical that follows the exploits of neurotic and bisexual Marvin; a challenging and touching musical with many (partially very complex) music styles. Tears guaranteed. Les Dwier, musical director and many years active at New York's Broadway stated: "This is the most challenging piece in my career" |

Ulm from news reports. He's
the recent German immigrant and Centennial middle- schooler whose
collarbone was broken (and worse) by bullies. His role as Marvin's
angst-ridden son, Jason, is a most demanding one. Ulm's at his best
singing comic ditties like "My Father's a Homo." Considering the

a
remarkably developed actor for his age." John Moore, Denver Post on April 25, 2008 |
